Shayna currently serves in a dual role as an Independent Living Advocate for the deaf & hard of hearing at The Independence Unlimited Center, and as a Vocational Advocate for the deaf and hard of hearing for the Disabilities Network of Eastern Connecticut. She is an active PLTI Parent Leader and serves the greater Hartford, CT community.

Shayna is the founder of a community-based organization called NexIzNow. NextIzNow is an organization that promotes advocacy through a holistic perspective in the greater Hartford area and abroad. The goal is to provide all caregivers the resources they need to advocate for adequate healthcare, educational, and wrap-around services through a communication matrix that encourages parents to become a proprietary component in their child’s treatment and care. Shayna remains passionate about advocacy for all families with children with disabilities
